A visit to Santa

We ventured out to the Chandler Mall last Sunday and managed to be first in line to see Santa. All was going well......

He was playing around Santa's house and posing for the camera......

and then it was all down hill. Let's just say I don't think he told Santa what he wanted for Christmas. Maybe next year....

Turkey Day!

Hayden had a great Thanksgiving. We usually go hiking in the morning, but amazingly enough it was really wet out with all the rain we had been getting, so we went for a long walk around our community. We stopped to play on the playground and walked through the rocks, so he was a happy little guy.

It was pretty cute- He kept taking his hat off just to look at the train on the front and then putting it back on. I think he likes trains! :-)

That evening we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a big dinner with lots of friends and family.

He enjoyed his turkey dinner on his festive plate.

And he truly LOVED all of the attention from everyone.

Hayden is what we are thankful for!

Halloween success!

Well, I went into the holiday not expecting a lot and boy did Hayden prove me wrong. We waiting until we arrived at our annual Halloween fair to put the costume on, which I think made all the difference in the world. We threw the costume on and away we went- minus the appropriate shoes for the outfit. Hayden didn't allow us to put socks and shoes on so he wore his sandals. We had to choose my battles carefully.

Should be interesting....

to see how Halloween plays out. The first try with his costume didn't go over so well.........

I couldn't even get him to wear the hat long enough for me to sneek in a picture. Wish us luck for Halloween! These may be the only pictures we get this year!

It's Pumpkin Time

Hayden has a blast wondering around the pumpkin patch in search for the perfect pumpkin.

1st Haircut - Aug 1st

I forgot to add this right after he had his first cut back in August, but better late then never. Hayden was a trooper as usual and did very well at his first haircut. He doesn't really have that much hair, but the small amount he does have was getting a little long around the ears. You will notice that he is only wearing a diaper and shoes, this is due to prolific gag reflex that occured just as we pulled up to Lori's house, much to Shauna's delight. All of these events made for a very eventful first haircut.

Like Father, Like Son!

Just like his father- he's already cataloging CD's. Much to his father's dismay, Hayden loves to go through the CD's and "reorganize" them. Now Richard will never be able to find what he's looking for, but at least it keeps Hayden happy.

Annual San Diego Getaway

It's that time of year again- the time when we have had enough of the AZ heat and our need for the beach air was necessary to cure our heat stroke. Our getaway was packed full of visits to the beach, zoo, aquarium, Seaport Village and Old Town. Hayden especially enjoyed himself at the zoo communing with all of the animals.

Sticking his toes in the sand.

Enjoying the ice cold water. He wouldn't keep his hat on so he had to wear the bandana, but he could wear anything and look cute!

He's Walking!

Well, some were a little concerned that Hayden wasn't walking at a year, but it seems he was just on his own time line. On Friday evening while at Grandma's house, Hayden just got up and walked from the front room to the kitchen all by himself. We were all standing around talking and then just stopped in awe. The look of satisfaction and joy on his face was awesome!

I apologize for not posting in awhile. We have been keeping busy with all of the birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc.

I have attached a few cute pictures of the little man from the past month. A few updates on Hayden are- He is starting to take more steps on his own, but still not technically walking yet. Hayden started Daycare this month. He has already missed a number of days to due illnesses, but I hope that will tapper off the more he's there and the stronger his immune system gets. Hayden is also enjoying his swim lessons. So all in all- things are going well and the little man keeps on grown'.

The summer has begun!

Enjoying the fountain at Audra's birthday dinner.

Hayden's Birthday Party

On Saturday we had a small birthday party with friends and family. Hayden did really well. He was not on his normal schedule and I was so afraid he was going to have a melt down in the middle of the party since he hardly slept, but he was happy and playful the whole time.

It start out so innocently...........

Next thing we know he is covered and enjoying every bite!

This shot is for Great Uncle Jerry. You knew I had to!

Here we are blowing out the candles.

Hayden's Birthday!!!

It's hard to believe, but our little man is 1 year old. Time has flown by so fast and he has grown so much. It's seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital preparing to bring him home. What a joy he is. We are so blessed to have him with us, healthy and happy!

Here we are at Cheesecake Factory enjoying his birthday. Sorry- Hayden wouldn't turn around for the picture.

"Swim" Lessons

Hayden started swim lessons after we returned from vacation. I will have to use the word "swim" loosely. It's more of an introduction to the pool, some safety lessons and singing.

This pretty much sums up the 1st lesson. He didn't move far from my leg. Oh well, we have high hopes for future lessons.

Trip to San Fran

In the end of March we went to the Bay Area to visit family and get a change of scenery. Hayden took his first airplane ride and did really well on both legs of the journey. It was really great to see everyone and to have everyone finally meet Hayden.

Hayden getting ready for takeoff on our way to the Bay. He is probably thinking- "Mom, why did you get me up so early for this!"

One of Hayden's favorite parts of the trip- watching the trains at the station below our hotel come and go. Hayden and Grandpa did a lot of bonding over the trains all week.

Dinner out with the family.

Day at the park 3-3-08

The weather is getting warmer- already! But the upside is, this is the best time of year. It is beautiful outside this time of year. But we have to get in our park time now before it gets too hot- we have a very short window.

We met some friends at a local park that had a great playground, a train and a merry go round. Hayden had a great time........

Dad and H on the train waiting for us to leave.

Hayden taking in the sights, sounds and air!

Hayden loves the swings!

"Dad- how do I look?"

Just hangn' around the house

Who could resist those legs!

Hayden loves our front door. He can hang out there for hours.

I can only imagine what Taboo is thinking. "Oh no, not this game again!"
